Crunch Time

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008 | Work

Ok, it has been a while since I climbed up my blog soap box and ranted, so it is high time I did so. It never ceases to amaze me how one can procrastinate and things go smoothly but as soon as you plan down to the tee, then all bets are off.

This last week of work should have been cake and rubber stamps all the way. Wasn’t I mistaken. This was in a tweet and I’ll say it again, databases can be most frustrating. I will most likely not be a DBA. EVER. Luckily, I was able to play the intern trump card and lube the wheels of bureaucracy a bit and things are finally starting to come along nicely.

Aside: I know that the administrative overhead and accountability serves a useful purpose and keeps people like Hermes happy. But I am not Hermes, so I don’t have to like it.
